Hello Im new to the Hamb just wanted to introduce myself and ask you guys a question. My Name is Brenden Stubblefield and Live just south of FT. Worth. I drive a white 63 Cad with flames. I know that some of you know me and look forward to meeting new friends from all over. I have a shop here in Burleson as well. Stubblefields Hot rod and motorsports. Don't do as much traditional stuff as I would like but, I do what pays the bills (muscle cars mainly ).Mostly Chargers and Challengers lately.

Also I am building a shoebox for myself and would like to get you what you think works best for a rearend. And if there is any junkyard buy that would fit well and not cost me an arm and a leg. And if so anybody got something?

    Later!

  2. I think Exploder/Ranger 8.8's are the right width but don't quote me on that.

The Explorer/Ranger 8.8 is a little bit wider than the original shoebox rearend, but will fit OK.

    A mid '70s Comet/Maverick 8" is just about a direct bolt in for a '49-51 Ford.

I have a mid 80's Ranger 7.5" rear in my 53 Ford, don't remember if 49-51 are the same as 52-54 or not. Anyway the Ranger was 1 inch(1/2 inch each side) narrower than the stock 53 rear.
