Hot Rods wheel size difference

    hey guys I am woundering if i move up to a 16 inch wheel from a 15 inch wheel how much height will i gain? Looking to get a taller tire also for a better rake formy 32 ford.

  3. That would depend on the tire size no,

    And if you were to just consider the rim (without tires) difference of 1" you would gain -1/2" in height with the steel on the ground
    Get a 6" taller tire , the car goes up 3"

    It's the tire diameter (actually, the radius) that affects height, not the rim diameter.
     
  5. Just bought new Cokers for my coupe. 7:50x16" rear 6:00x16" front. Here is what it looks like.

    Tires 009.JPG My Roadster has 7:00x16" rear and 5:50 x 16" fronts. I wanted 5:50's for the front of the coupe but they are not made with same ww and thread design.

    but main difference will be in tire size, or level may stay the same with smaller wheel and larger tire

    How your suspension is set up will effect rake as much or more than just tire size...
