I drive my 50 ford everyday with a mild flathead and 6v electrics (which for some reason blows peoples minds..) Im bumming rides for now though, my master cylinder went out about 20 miles from my house the other day; which led to lots of downshifting and parking brake scary-ness

I drive an english Ford Zephyr from 1954.Straight six three speed colum shift.Looks real good from 10 feet away but its going to need a repaint soon.Hope to have my same model convertable on the road in about a year, then that will get used every fine day

  5. my old galaxie was my daily but considering it was a 2k dollar car, it wasn't to reliable, then when i got my plymouth it was my daily, but it's now up on jacks in the garage awaiting a starter, and pretty soon i'm probly going to sell it for an early sixtys car (p.s. pop me a pm if you might be interested in the plymouth trades are welcom---sorry for the mindless plug!)

I drive my Model A everywhere. For the last 4 summers its actually been my only car. So if I need to go somewhere it has to be in the Model A. I'm able to drive April to Thanksgiving Weekend, there's snow and salt on the road after that.

my 65 chrysler has been my daily for about 6 years now. its also been the most reliable vehicle ive owned. driving a lowered 2 & 1/2 ton, 18' long barge on ****ty NJ roads for that long has built up my pothole & bump radar senses so much that i can actually see them with my eyes closed now. check my profile out for a half decent pic.

My car is a musclecar 1970 Firebird 455+.060" with tunnel port RA V heads. I run a 9" converter, TH350 w/BM kit, 10-bolt posi rear

Engine is solid cammed- tunnel ram w/1-4 bbl 750 Holley

I'd love to drive it every day- but that's impossible- the car uses $10 a ride in gas. It's like going on an amu*****t park ride. Buy your ticket at the gas pump, get a thrill.

Haha! My slave cyl locked up on me in my 52 a couple weeks ago, but it's still up on stilts right now since I've been out of town and working long hours when I have been around... so today I drive the wife's car.

I have a 60-mile round trip daily commute...

But normally if my 52 breaks, I'm either catching a ride with a co-worker or borrowing Mrs. Slide's late model.

I think I'm gonna try to find a cheap car to drive for a bit while I get some serious stuff done on my car for a couple months, though. (Anybody in DFW got a 4 cyl/5 speed runner under $1000??? ) It's hard to get much done on the hot rod/custom when you can only take it so far apart because you hafta get back to work tomorrow (or after the weekend).

I used to daily drive my chopped Merc. You had to see peoples faces when they saw that thing coming down the road in a snowstorm lol.

Ill daily drive something again, I just want discs, power steering etc...and have too many projects lined up now to start fiddling with that.

Oh, right now I drive either my 65 Olds or my girlfriends 61 Ford daily, so I guess thats not horrible.

My '61 Ranchero gets alternated with the '73 Norton. 2 wheels or 4? Depends. Raining outside? Trip to lumber yard? Or just a nice trip to the bookstore or TexMex breakfast? Depends on my mood, mostly.

The Ford is getting painted today, so it's Norton!

  21. I drive my late model ('65) daily. Summer or winter, rain snow or sun, day or night. Its a go anywhere do anything hauler. Nothin fancy, but its mine free and clear.
Been driveing it ever since Rockey let me take it away. I did change the engine and ******, but the SBC that was in it is destined to live in a '27 coupe. There was nothing in the world wrong with the mill I just wanted an automatic, lazy I guess.

don't have many pics but here's a candid shot that someone snapped at an intersection near Joplin.

One of the few times anyone has ever seen me in a hurry.:D

Oh I should add that I didn't have my foot on the brake.

Drive my lowered 60 El Camino every day. I have had as daily drivers previous to the El Camino for the last five years:
    37 Chevy truck
    60 F-100
    64 Riviera

None have left me stranded with any serious problems. A fuel pump here, alternator there, nothing that a newer car with some use would not also have to fix. The worst problem was on my El Camino losing the driveshaft carrier bearing on a road trip, that did cost me a day and a tow. I was able to fix it myself, but had to get a tow and spend the night at a hotel unexpectedly.

Drive it all over & the only problem has been a clogged fuel filter! Doesn't lose a drop of anything! Well, the bags leak some overnight, but I don't count that!
