Neat idea, unfortunately I don't golf or go to *** shops. I'll have to check out the grandkids dolls for belts or go to the pet store and look a small pet collars?

That's great news bob , I was waiting for you ask if invisible wires cause invisible fires :)
    Just kidding

I can clearly see the wires, the wire hanger is the unsean loom. I really like the alignment of all the red hash marks in all four wires. Bottom line for me is keeping all wires out of sight, and the ones that you do have to see look atractive. I'll go to my grave not knowing how electricity works, but I'm ok with that, I'm a body guy. Very nice. Please post photos of how you ran the plug wires to the other head.

Nice job. One trick i like to use when wiring a car is to strategically tie small clear fishing line where i want my wires to stay together. It is almost impossible to see from more than a foot away. we really need more pictures of your flatty.

Thanks for the comments, GM big blocks I know but this is my first flattie. As such, I borrower knowledge were I can get it in order to avoid costly errors. (that would have come in handy before that 1st marriage) The motor is a culmination of Joe Abbin's advice from his book, Mike's first hand knowledge and expertise at H and H and my machinist (and local roundy-round racing legend) Tom Pinkowski. I might have done alright with another setup but this system won't hurt me in my attempt to make 360HP on this flathead. I do appreciate all of the comments, fore and agin.

flatheadpete, I will post a couple shots for you tomorrow after I get my trio of 97's bolted on. I had to re-machine and polish the adapter after a failed idea I had (they don't all work).

If you all liked that one, wait till you see the pipe hangers I'm building...they came to me in a dream the other night, beats red spiders.

Sorry for the teasers, here is a few pics of the flathead, it is close to finished, waiting on some chrome 5/16th fittings from Clive at Stromberg so I can build the fuel lines from the fuel block to the carbs.

Oh and here is the routing around the front, tight fit with those belts, I may still build a bracket that is rigid, covered in leather with a buckle so it looks like a strap but it will be bolted on.

The motor is a '49 8BA, punched .125, merc crank, ross racing pistons, Isky blower profile cam, CNC'd main caps, relieved combustion chambers, weeks worth of porting/polishing, Navaro blower heads, Navaro 471 and intake, custom Strombergs from the UK, red's headers, McLeod T/O & clutch, '88 S-10 T-5, you know...that old nutshell.

Your engine looks amazing! What brand adapter are you using between the flatty and the T5?

  23. Yes. That will be used on my future projects. Good Job!

The adapter is from Pat at Wilcap. High quality product and he also furnished the T/O and pilot bushing. Pat is a great guy and offers fantastic customer service. I polished it cause I was bored. I had a buddy pop the upper 3/4" hole for the bleeder valve on his bridgport, used a couple of sizes of rubber hose to line the holes in the spacer to protect the T/O lines. pretty tidy piece. flatty9.jpg

It would have been cooler if you built something radical instead of so close to stock.
