History I JUST GOT THIS 1934 FORD ROADSTER CUSTOM...ANYONE RECOGNIZE IT?

Let me guess ya paid next to nothing for it..... And he threw in the compressor

 

Grille is different to the Rounthwaite Coupe grille. The grille on the red roadster is 100% an Art Ingles grille, it is said they only cast 5 or 6 of them.

 

This is so bad ass. Good save!

Sorry Jimmy, I ment the nose and not the grill on Rounthwaite's coupe. You and Alchemy
are right on with the Art Ingles grill. After more digging I found Art's grill on Barney Navarro,s
27, Wes Copper's 27, Dick Kraft's blue T, Spalding Bros. track T, and Banto and Jack Perre's 27 T.
With this kind of talent involved in the build, the car has to have notoriety. Keep looking guys,

Found one more: Jerry Sprague's 1932 ford roadster,s nose, hood, and side
louvers, were done by Art Ingles

So found these on Petersen Archive, still no name but these were taken in 1971 LA. & no I didn't buy it, wish I had seen it for sale. When these photos were taken it was for sale also, this was tagged with Jim Jacobs when he was restoring the Niekamp roadster.

Anyone remember a "Marbe's Coffee Shop", on Orange Ave., somewhere in Southern California, in 1971?

Navarro front end and yours do not look the same to me. Maybe camera angle.

Went to buy a compressor and brings home a 34 Ford!!

Just letting it Antique in the Shop...LOL! I didn't know anyone was still looking at the Post!

 

Art Ingels made around a dozen of the nose/grilles. Some were tilted back, some were straight up and shortened, like the Spalding Bros. They were all built on the same buck. Greg, you need to get it on the road !

 

The Grille is the Same...but the Nose is smaller on the Navarro front end. I've noticed that the nose on mine is one of the biggest ones I have ever seen with an Art Ingels Grille. I'm guessing it's because mine is a '34, so the front end is bigger than a "T", which is what most of the other Ingels' front ends are used on.

 

Yeah, and I found the Compressor on E-Bay. So I searched the World for a Compressor, and ended up finding one 20 miles from my house. And then ended up buying the Compressor...and a 1934 Roadster Custom...LOL!

Greg...awesome score! The license plate starting with a P was issued about 1965...also the rear nerf bar was more of a thing in the late 50s right? Super neat car!
