Are the 51/52 Ford-o-matic auto transmissions valuable?

About like a dose of clap ! A numbers matching restorer maybe, otherwise not a high demand item.

  3. They are a lot more valuable on earlyfordv8.com, fordbarn.com, or a shoebox site than they are on HAMB. If I had an original car (driver or restored) those years with an automatic I would want to fix it if there was a problem. If it is like it used to be some of the internal parts are not available.

well; i was able to trade a '53 Fordomatic with the flexplate, driveshaft, everything needed to hook it up, for a Maverick a few years back... the maverick donated a good 8" 5lug rear and it's front disc brakes to a Falcon i was building. i abandoned the '53 flathead when the block was ruined, otherwise i'd have slipped it into the '51 i had.
