Hi all, I'm in the middle of a 64 Galaxie project and I thought I'd throw the feelers out for any info on reproduction trunk floor braces or brace sections that might be available?

I don't know of any myself, I plan on just making what I need but if somebody is producing these it could save me some time.

Left and right ends of the mid support which the fuel tank straps hang from.

Its really a pretty solid car, minor patching, a quarter repair skin on LH side, partial quarter repair on RH side... Its really not bad for rust, besides the trunk supports.

I'll check back later, any info appreciated, thanks for looking.

I have some of the same issues in the trunk of my 63.

As far as i know no one makes these braces, i intend on making a new one for my gas tank straps. I'm not gonna cut the hole in the brace for the end of the strap - i was thinking of adding a 1/4" round piece of steel and curving it like a cupboard door handle, that way there is no water getting trapped inside the brace. Hope that makes sense.
    Here is a floor brace i made - or, . . . . had to make ha

lgh1157, for the type of brace you have pictured-take a look at using a section of steel fire door frame. I've had good luck with that in the past. Saves a lot of bending. Sam

Update, I finally got time to do something about these braces.

    The G'damn rotten mid brace:

I decided to salvage the weld flanges and just remove the rotted structure.

    So far so good.

A little tweaking/sanding and it'll be fairly sporty.
