    I don't know if anyone on here is aware of what the significance of the BMW emblem is,but a tech explained it to me once:

    The emblem has two blue areas and two white areas on it that is supposed to simulate a spinning propeller(BMW originally built aircraft engines)but is in reality a sophisticated factory diagnostic tool.To use it,you install a pointer on a shaft in the middle of the emblem and give it a spin.If it lands on the blue area,it means the valves and rings are worn and need to be replaced.If it lands on the white area it indicated the head is cracked and leaking antifreeze into the cylinders.

    Then there was(not exactly an acronym)that infamous English marque;the,"Rolls-Cannardly".Rolls down one hill;can hardly make it up the next.
