just wondering what's up with them, ordered my sub in sept, still no mags, 2 emails to them with all the info they needed, still no response....
I will second that, i order my mag a long time ago (before the last issue came out) have saved the emails saying that we "shipped" a package, but so far nada! so i would like to hear what is going on. thanks - doug

Hey, I just saw this post! GARAGE #9 will be out in January. To make a long story short, we've changed distributors and have to wait till the beginning of the new year (and new contract) to put out the next issue. Our distributor ran into big financial problems and, as small as we are, we can't absorb their problems and still put out the magazine. So, we ended that contract and have started with a new distro. We can't afford to put another issue out with our existing distro (since there would be a big risk of never seeing that money), so unfortunately we just have to wait in order to survive this mess. But, don't worry--we're still here and if you're missing Issue #8 (the one that's on the stands now), drop me a line directly at: chief@garagemagazine.com We'll get you taken care of. Just to throw a little salt in the eye, we just noticed the site was down and fixed it about 15 minutes ago. It'll take anywhere from 24 to 36 hours to come back up (and hopefully sooner). And yeah, KIRK's right--I have been known to smell like poop. But it's only because of the knee-deep shit I've been wading through! The explanation is to your abreviated quote of mine (Richard or is it DICK?) Is that as a small business owner, we put out money & lots of it I must say expecting just as our own customers would to get a usable product from our suppliers & to provide a quality alternative only to be screwed over by somebody seeking to make a quick buck off the mfg as a supplier because they see that this isn't just a f*cking job, but a passion to us as small business owners. We get screwed more often than you'll ever know. We are not out to screw the consumer. My aluminum suppliers have sent me 3-4 15% cost updates/increases along with additional surcharges on aluminum ingot this past year citing the rising cost of Natural Gas as well as increased power costs & general cost of living increases. I haven't raised my prices on my items in several years. The poeple who buy my parts for resale have, so that means that I now may have to. So if you took what I was agreeing with Dan with out of context and misconstrued what I was saying, that is on your end. If the company that he used for printing upsconded with his $'s , Then that's screwed! And that was all I was really saying to Dan. A guy can ask all of the ?'s he wants & I will try to provide the most adequate & informative answers pertaining to the subject within the grasp of my knowledge pertaining to our product.
awesome magazine stoner!!! issue #6 was the first one i found, man, i was hooked from the cover shot on! i just wish it was a monthly, or at least a bi-monthly! bummer about #9 coming out late, i planned on using them for stocking stuffers, guess i'll give slingshots......if anyone looses a eye, its your fault!!!

I bought 2 back issues from their website a year ago, they charged my card but have never sent my magazines. I sent an email to them after 6 months and never heard back from them. I know it's a small magazine (and a good one too) but they could have at least emailed me back.....
Yah, I guess there's gotta be problems, it's been months since I payed for my sub, yet never got a single issue, emailed all the info they wanted to check, got one response saying they'd check into it....that was about a month ago. I resent the email......and you guessed it....NOTHING! I guess i'll just take it as a loss, and never purchase anything from them
yeah i tried to order the hurricane relief tee shirt on their site...sent paypal and a month went by and they never claimed it so it was returned to my account i wanted that shirt too burn.
Hey guys--I just logged on after being off for a while and saw this. We went through a lag with our distributor not paying us and got caught up in dealing with that snowball (when no cash comes in, it's real difficult to get anything out). Please send me a note at chief@garagemagazine.com and I'll personally take care of all this stuff by the end of the weekend. If you've paid for something, you deserve to get it--there's no statute of limitations on it. There's also no excuse for it. I take the blame and if you'll do me the favor of just sending me that note, it's the fastest way for me to take care of it. #9 is right around the corner. We've got a new distributor that will NOT take our money and run. And with them, we'll also be able to take care of getting into more and more stores. Thanks again for weathering these growing pains with me and I sure do appreciate the patience. STONER
Stoner, You sound like a man of your word. I'm gonna chalk it up to small business problems and shoot you an email. It's been so long now, I don't remember which 2 back issues I ordered!!! Maybe you'll have a record on my payment that will tell us... We all make mistakes and we all run into problems, whether in our personal lives or business life...what really matters is how we handle and deal with the pitfalls and mistakes that count. I run a small shop and have a hard time with suppliers and the like as well, I feel your pain. Matt
