I am looking for any info that anyone may remember if they recognize my pictured frame. The original owner is no longer with us so that route is a dead end. It is a very distinctive center cross member section. It has been suggested that Speedway Motors used to sell a square tube cross member kit like this one. (They no longer sell one for 33-34 but do sell one that almost looks like it for a 32) The time frame would be around late '90's-early 2000's. Does anyone remember or have any info on this frame/cross member? Thanks for any help you can give.

Trying to figure out who built it, or if it was a do it yourself kit frame or what its origin was.

Compare it to tci. They use rectangular tubing for x members.

Looks homebuilt to me. Progressive Automotive also built a similar ch***is during that period.

I have a Progressive frame, and it doesn't look like that. They might have more than one style.

We believe that it was Speedway frame rails with one of their rectangular center sections. They no longer make it and it has been hard getting any info from anyone about a 15 year old kit/product. The tech guys at Pete and Jakes and TCI gave me some ideas but we hit dead ends.
I was wondering if anyone had seen or used one of these Speedway kits and could ID it. Maybe someone has an old '90s catalog? Thanks for the help so far.

Maybe I'm confused, but... what does it matter who built it? I think it's been established that it's not genuine Ford. Does it make a difference if it's Speedway, TCI, Pete and Jakes, etc.? It's either solid and well built, or it isn't.

Curiosity. Aren't you ever curious about the origin of things. It is not life saving knowing the answer, just one of those things that is interesting to know. If you are not that interested please keep your comments to yourself. Does that clear up your confusion any?

There are many shops that have come and gone. Even many of the gl*** body manufacturers built frames such as Downs, Outlaw, etc. Most ch***is's from the major shops came set up for coilovers on the rear, especially 15 years ago. My guess it was a small shop or someones home shop.

  14. This is probably the most sensible posts in this thread and its met with "keep your comments to yourself"

Anyone with access to rectangular tube could have made that.

Time to make up a really good story and stick with it......! Probably will be hard to track down, as others have said there were quite a few mfgr's and small shopes fabbing up ch***is.
