I love my 94 6x2 setup, yes they pissed and moaned at first, and with alot of work all 12 ****erflies open at once and run like a Banshee..........Your going to have to sort out the set up no matter what type of six carbs that you run......no hesitation...............I''ll give anyone a ride to prove how great they can work...I think you can get them all of them to work,94's, 97's and so on..............its just how bad do you want it.........Littleman...Id run eight if I had the intake..

  2. Way back when,,,my dad built an 8 carb manifold for a Caddy. We never used it though. While building the Caddy engine, he discovered the MEL (huge Cubes) and switched. Sure would like to know what happened to that manifold. It was originally a U-fab 6 carb manifold that he altered.

So I've got a 4x2 Weiand, and a Bunch of 94's. I'm scared ****less by all the conflicting **** I read here. What do I have to do to get these carbs to work on this manifold? Do they need new bases? Someone give us some guidance here...

Ok this really bugs me now because I was searching ebay last night and came across a 8x2 set up for the sbc. It took 8 weber carbs, now that I go look I cant find it anywhere. The sad part is I dont even remember the manufacturer but I thought it was odd because it was the first 8x2 sbc that I have ever seen.............................

I have a home made 4 X 2 set up that was made in the early 60s or late 50s I think by Fast Eddie Sharpman It has 4 Rochester Carbs on a homemade log mounted on a GM Corvette Fuelie manifold I've had it since 1962 I think , I ran it on a C/A 29 ford coupe with a 283 bored to 292 in thought you guys &girls might like to see it

Here's an old Mooneyes 8x2 from years ago when they produced EFI 97s before they sold design to Retrotek Speed . I've never seen one anywhere else.

hmmm, the moon 8x2 is reminiscent of the Cragar Octog***er setup for hemis except the cragar setup had individual two carb pieces (4 of them) that bolted onto the heads over the ports. Only seen one, bought it for $20 in a box under a vendor table in CT back in early 80s. I think it is still kicking around Seacoast NH as the guy who had it p***ed away and it is probably still in the ba*****t there. Garlits has a Swamp Rat rail in his museum with an Octog***er on it. Swamp Rat 1 I think, been a while since I visited the museum.

Gene Fulton has 8x2s on his small block Chevy powered Willys g***er. It's the only one I've ever seen on a small block Chevy.

If you really want an 8x2 intake, buy a Mooneyes weber down draft intake. You would just have to make adapters that go from weber mounts to stromberg mounts. Looks like that is what is on the yellow engine in the pic in the previous post.
