Camera must be messed up. Took picture today after a 200 mile foliage drive. Best shot right on my own street.
Looks great, especially when were getting snow in Minnesota. I had a black 39 Deluxe that sat similar to yours (maybe even a little lower in front.). I bet the rears are hard to wedge in the opening! One car I wish I would have kept.
Nice picture Okiedoke! Is that a reflection of an American flag I see in the window?Looks like my little piece of Washington state has nothing over yours in OK.
What's up with all the '40 guys hogging all the comments ?? Get out of here already............I LOVE THE CAR and your PICTURE. That's awesome. Favorite color, favorite car, favorite wheels. Thank you kind sir.
Great picture and car! I was noticing a tree in my back yard that looks about like that one in your pic just yesterday. Thanks for sharing!
That's what I meant about the camera being messed up. Now I will have to have one of my grandkids come over and reset it for me.
It's what originally brought me here. My grandfather had a black coupe, with a chrome firewall, chrome wheels, Cadillac engine, and a bunch of funky white spider webbing.....Beckley West Virginia, although I think it was known as coming out of Grandview. Made some pages back in the day.....although Hot Rod I think was just a misconcieved family admonishment....because I can not find it in any Hot Rod magazines...of that era.....yet. Who knows? It was Black Diamond, or Black Widow....or something to that effect as its page title. I'll have to scan some actual pictures when I get home next. Love my black '40's !!!
Dang that pic is just great any more of yours would be appreciated. The 40 coupe has to be the best design ever from ford . I've owned 2 in my life wish I never sold them!
Thanks for the kind words guys. I have owned several 40's since I was 17, but this is by far the nicest. Every time I walk out in my garage and see it my heart flutters a bit. Only took another 50 years.
Fall came and went. 12" of snow last night suggests winter is here. Time to go out to the shop and fire up the trusty woodburner!
I've seen two of your 40s up close and personal, and loved them both! Beautiful cars! Here's my '47 in front of a beautiful Gingko tree
The date is interesting and studying the coupe the photo could have very easily been take in 2003,,amazing how when a car is built right the look is timeless. HRP
Fall is long gone in Colorado tonight. 8 below chill factor. Think I will stay inside. The 40 looks great.
I was gonna snap a shot of the '40 stake truck, on the little road that leads to Doug's shop, when I was dropping off the rear end and springs for the F100. Unfortunately, with all the wind and this crazy cold snap that we currently have, most of the trees were pretty bare. Here's a shot from last fall, though, in my driveway. ;-)
Great picture Bret. Hope you are going to add to the spring pack on the rear, or you will have a 60's look for sure.
OL 55 love your coupe. Every time I see a nice 40 I kick myself in the ass for selling mine. What I love about the Hamb its like going to a car show everyday.
