Projects 1938 chevrolet truck cab resto

Cab prior to plastic media .This truck has gone through 2 restoration shops in Texas which performed extremely poor work.One of the shops was in charge of repairing the lower rear cab panel.There was a 6"x3" rusted section in the bottom corner ,they attempted repairing and ended up warping the whole panel that bad,it had to be removed as you see in the pictures below.

I never get tired of your threads. Truly inspiration skills that I wish I possessed. I can see this being another brilliant artwork.

 

Look forward to watching this!. Those dents on the outside edges of the cowl must be from the factory when they put the reinforcement in for the grill shell supports as my '37 had the exact same ones.

 

Love your work and look forward to seeing this one get restored.

I&I is a great source for Vintage Chevy parts, they make most of what they sell. Bob

 

previous repair around the gas cap opening.

 

And continued from shaped patch to grafted in and metal finished.

Looking for fully skilled metal workers that can do shape work.Upwards of $25 per hr depending on skill level.

Rear window restoration. Outer and inner side areas rotted out and filled with fiber gl***.

 

Did you see the one I looked at yesterday? It was way worse than this. I posted a thread looking for info on these things. Funny, I did a search first, and nothing came up

 

i did,if it was me id leave it where it is.Even if its cheap.

@the metalsurgeon I always love looking at your threads and seeing the incredible work you do. I wish I had half the skill you have in your little finger (I know just enough to get myself into trouble, and occasionally back out), but for now I guess I'll just keep watching in awe.

Just amazing to watch the transition from beat up and abused, to better than the day it was built at GM factory back in 38!
