What's the average cost to have your front split bench, rear seat, and rear armrest cost to recover? I'm talking just vinyl pleats or something of the norm, nothing crazy. And the seats are in great shape, they've been recovered by another guy a couple years ago.

Hmmm, good thing it's not your car. Maybe I like to shop at Wal-Mart. I'm still looking for the post of me asking what people think about my headlights. Considering you voiced your negative opinion on something I've already done, seems like you're the "HAMB CROWD"

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I wish I had these skills also. Lol An awesome kustoms guy is building it for me. My metal working skills are strictly for industrial purposes only. Lol

He was just telling the truth about the headlights. They do suck. Yes that is just an opinion. Yes you didn't ask specifically, but you put it out in public. Yes it doesn't matter to you you. Yes it's your car and yes you can shop at Wal-Mart if you want, but remember where you are and how things like that will be received. Don't be surprised.

The chop looks nice so far however.

Lol You people crack me up. I'm sure there are quite a few things that suck about you but my Momma always told me if I ain't got nothin nice to say then keep my trap shut. If I ask for an opinion on something and someone doesn't like it then that's a different story. You so called "HAMBERS" that live to bash people's cars at every given chance wouldn't say chit to guy at a show. You'd just walk on by. So use your imagination and just walk on by. Too often I see the same types bashing on cars. Get a grip. Lol Not to mention a life.

Hey man, we are just trying to help you out. It's just a big family here, and we are like your older brother telling you to stop being a nerd. If you don't like the advice, you can get your signup fee back. Just request it from a moderator.

Ohhhhh nowwww I seeee! You're just trying to help me be "cool" like you. I bet you were always the coolest kid around...Haha but seriously, I guess your EIGHT THOUSAND posts makes you feel entitled, I'm sure a large portion of those were offering your unwanted opinion. I've read a ton of threads getting hijacked by "big brothers" just like you. Until the day comes that you see a guy at a pre 60 car show and tell him his Hagens suck, don't stop by people's threads just to be a "cool" big brother. What's ironic about your last post offering advice is that I had just got done actually asking for advice on my seats. Anyway maybe one day I'll grow up to be cool just like you and have funny little quips about signup fees and such. But I doubt it!

OK, I won't "help" you anymore. Enjoy your Hagen headlights.

I am cracking up as well. You sir are exactly the type of guy that doesn't "get it". Which is why you immediately get all butt-hurt when someone offers a simple opinion that is totally inline with the "traditional" stance of this forum. You obviously know the nature of what most people here are interested in, and what they are not. I simply agreed with the previously posted statement (as well as the entire thread dedicated to the suckitude of those headlights) and said don't be surprised at the reaction you get to them here. So get your own grip on some thicker skin and suck it up. You're right - it's your car and you can mount all the modern street rod crap you want on it. Or you can pay somebody else to do it for you. Totally your prerogative - just don't expect it to go over with a traditionally oriented group of folks. But you enjoy the hell out of them. Sincerely. If they make you happy that's great.

I did say the chop looked nice, which I meant. I would tell you that at a show. And I would tell you your modern headlights suck and don't fit the look of the car. That day has came, went, and will surely come again. You don't have to agree with me, but my opinion stands. That's the beauty of America. But whatever. Onward...

Wow! Ok so getting away from your headlights......what was going on with your question on the seats? Are you running the originals? I ask because I am on the hunt for either an original front seat or an alternative.

Hey 51, I looked for a reasonably price Merc bench. I couldn't find one under $500. I'm using my stock rear and a 66 Impala split bench. It looks a lot like the stock. I'll use it for now anyways.

I know how difficult it is to find a useable front myself. I have a 50 Pontiac bench I'm going to try the fit on.
Looks like your project is coming along well. Keep up the good work.

Thanks man, I'm hoping to be driving it by the spring. Hopefully I find a seat in the next few years.

Wow I did not know stock seats were that pricey. A stock seat is 57" wide and with a relatively flat floor I'm sure you could get a later model one to fit. Most aren't that wide.
