I am not real familiar with Nailheads, what are my options for replacing the 2 speed dyna flow behind a 58' 364?

It's the wifes car and she prefers an automatic.

I am just covering my bases if the ****** decides to let the magic smoke out.

    Bolt it? Adapter plate?

    thanks!!!

get a 64-66 th400 from behind a 401 or 425, grab the flywheel and starter also.modify the flywheel by boring out the id to mach the id of the original 364 flywheel, and cut off the balance weight.then you need to make a adaptor bushing for the torque converter into the rear of the crankshaft, id= 1.708 od=2.047 length = 1-1/4 inches long (but it may be 1-1/2, i had one that the longer one didnt fit in)bolt the starter on (may only use 1 bolt depending on block)bolt on flywheelbolt on trans.JEFF

is this going into a full bodied 58 Buick?
if you convert over from the Dynaflow (torque tube) style driveline, you also need to change the driveline over to an open sysytem. a lot of work but it has been done many times and works out well. I have a 700r with an adaptor kit that will be going into my 53 Super.

good luck...I have links to people that have performed this if you like.
