History Video: Driving around New York City in 1928

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Bill McGuire, Nov 17, 2014.

  1. A must-see for old-school gearheads: neat little film about the streets of New York -- but with a surprise. With its great glimpses of the streets and cars of the time, it's a valuable historical artifact. But at around the one-minute mark, we discover what this clip really is: an excerpt from the 1928 silent film cl***ic Speedy, starring the great Harold Lloyd. Hilarious and educational: what more could we ask?

Cool video and see The Babe bounce around in the back seat shows a different side of his character.

Most of the silent era films bore me, except the ones with cars or Harold Lloyd.

  4. Kind of mind-boggling to see all these stunts done with no special effects, no CGI, no safety precautions whatsoever.
