I've seen these for other engines (like Olds), did anyone make one for the 292 Y Block?

In all of the old magazine ads and speed equipment catalogs I've seen, I've never seen any evidence of a 2x2 for a Y block.

  4. Kevin,

    I've seen....

1x2 3x2 6x2 1x4 2x4 but never a 2x2. Doesn't mean some guy didn't make one in his garage with a home foundry kit he got from J.C. Whitney, but I've never seen one...

Anyone seen one in print maybe???

Just block off the center of a 3x2 intake. Finned ones are available or you can make one very easily

Ford made a 312 Interceptor Boat motor in the late 50`s and early 60`s. It had a 2x2 manifold, but the carbs were sidedrafts and were placed fore and aft, not side to side. The intent was to lower the overall height of the engine for the engine cover. There is a picture in one of the recent posts about multiple carb setups. Sorry, I don`t know how to link to it.

That was a 2 x 1 intake using Carter YH sidedraft 1 bbls. That manifold did not pass water to the radiator as is common with many marine intakes. I have seen photos of modifications using 4 downdraft 1 bbls and also Weber downdrafts.

They did have water connections, they were just separate ports that are missing with most of the intakes passed around.

That's a cool manifold. Going to run it on a car??? Is it for sale?
