Trim identified

I bought these on ebay, list for 1951, 52, 53 Pontiac or Chevy trim. Here is the listing:
"Complete pair of pontiac trim. They are the same length. Can be used in anything. They are nearly perfect. The tangs are all solid and will mount easily to any door panel or flat surface."
I can't find a picture of a car with this trim.

Duh., no wonder I could no find it! Is it sturdy enough for exterior use? I saw door panel, but for some reason I was thinking extrerior! I got a good deal on them so I am happy!

 

I like to think of those as 49 merc interior trim.

 

Nice, they are for my 51 Merc!
