    Karl,
May I ask why you are being so modest here on the HAMB? You should tell everyone that you are the guy that makes the best
Auburn Dash replica(better fit than original)..maybe even post your website for all the newbies too..
Thanks Mr Knecht, dont be so bashful..

Russco, It is a great story about Sid Kayman. I posted a thread about a year ago asking for information on the "St. Louis Stock Car Racing ***ociation." You are the one that answered and posted the link to the thread by King Ch***is. I am glad you like the story and you are a part of "the find". The HAMB is an amazing place.

    Great find!!
I got all the paperwork for my car since it was purchased in 1950 at an Oakland dealership all the way to the mid 60s. Matching block number, but that newspaper find is a tripp!

At 67, I qualify for geezer status, so if the reunion hasn't p***ed, I would like to attend. I drive a '32 Highboy out of San Antonio. Hope I haven't missed it.

The ch***is is basically stock 1932 Ford with everything rebuilt. No boxing and yes it does flex at times and the doors will pinch your arm if you're not careful. None of the rods of the forties were boxed and they did fine. The main modifications are:

The '32 front crossmember was lowered 1-1/2" by Bob Wilson. This was done by cutting out part of the center of the crossmember and welding in a new raised plate.

Dropped heavy axle back in the day. Mor Drop.

The very first set of Wilson Welding Lincoln brakes on the front. Original Lincoln brakes on the rear.

'32 pedals adapted to mount a '39 master cylinder by Bob Wilson.

Originally I ran a '32 rear end with a model a quickchange.. Later change to '41 Ford with no quickchange.

Rear crossmember modified for clearance to run a T spring and a quickchange by Bob Wilson.

The radiator is stock '32 Ford.

  10. Did you have your roadster out at Pistons & Paint. Don't recall seeing it. Very cool.

Dons32.jpg Dons32d900.jpg Dons32b.jpg RoadsterGarage.JPG Don Newhouse (delray) let me copy several of his pictures. They were taken in 1959. Don also took me to the house he had back when he had the roadster and showed me the 3/4 scale garage he built for the '32. Don installed a Pontiac engine. Don's wife remembers going to get groceries in the car and carrying their baby!

Hey KK, What are those headers? Look kind of like old Headman. Love em.

Redo32: You are right. They are early "tri-Y" Hedman headers that have had the header flanges modified. From the late '50's or early '60's for a corvette.

Fortunateson: I used the '41 torque tube and driveshaft cut down to fit. I did not try fitting the '32 torque tube. I don't think the '32 torque tube will work for several reasons. I think it is too short. I had a hot rodder machinist/welder friend that did mine. The length measurements are really critical.
