I saw this one a couple years ago in Pigeon Forge, TN during the Shades of the Past weekend!
There is also one in the junkyard up here in Indiana. I stripped most all the fibergl*** "woody" type trim off of it and other trim pieces thinking somebody might need them someday.

Really nice wagon!!! Please show us pic's when you got the new wheels. First I wanted Astro's for my '64 Colony Park, but they where to expensieve here in the Netherlands, so I got a set of chrome smooties and a set of nice bullit caps!! Looks great on my wagon:

  10. Thanks again for the kind words, fellas!

    rdtreur, your '64 looks AWESOME!

I got her a new pair of socks and shoes. I went with the new Cragar Eliminator 500s and some basic pep-boys type white walls.

They look similar to the old time Hurst wheels. Car is looking good how is it handling modern driving?

  13. I stole the woodgrain off the Tan one, adn lowered it a little...

Looks great! What size are the wheels?

  16. Thanks! The Cragars are 15 x 7, and the tires are 225/75 front and 235/75 rear, just el cheapo store brand radials. I really wanted some redlines, but can't afford them right now. I paid $119 ea. from Jegs for the wheels, and the tires where $50 each plus mounting, which is not too bad for a broke-*** ******* like me.:D

The handling is nice and tight with the radials, but they do transfer alot more road noise than the bias plys, and we sure do have some ****ty roads here in Florida.

Thanks for taking the time on the photoshop, Mike! Looks cool!~

That looks nice. I'm needing to decide on some for my old merc wagon.

Does anyone know if the cl***ic chrome centers fit the Eliminators?

    Time to revive this post.
Here is a pick of a '64 I bought this past weekend at the Jefferson, WI Swap Meet. It is a bit rough around the edges, but runs. 390 auto. Going to try to bend up some exhaust for it and get the back brakes fixed so i can drive it the 400 miles to the Pileup in less than two weeks.

The skinny white-walls and the wheels make it look period-correct!! You don't need redlines. Tip--> paint the drums ;-)

It's pretty close. Someone put a lighter wood grain on it and appears to have redone the surround since it is now a uniform color. I want to go to steel rims that are painted to match the car and use some Mercury dog dish hubcaps.

Speaking of Merc. wagons, I once saw Mercury's version of the Chevy Nomad. It was a 59' Merc. Anyone know anything about them? Pictures?
