I have been asked for the info of a Ford truck that I had taken a picture of recently, I think it might be from South America?

Cab doesn't look like a Ford....notice how the door glass is way lower than the bottom of the windshield. Looks like it's some other make that's been customized to use a Ford grill.

must be a "big" truck, the wheel well openings are really wide. that could explain the side opening hood.

  12. It's pretty neat.
Could be a complete custom job just as well as some mystery foreign make.

  14. this is exactly why my 48 willys truck is getting cut up into little pieces and then reconstructed to be something else, its going to make a nice "head scratcher". Its also fun to have a one off type ride and then sit and listen to the people that will walk by and the proclaim they know what it is, or their cousin has one just like it etc etc etc.
This truck is a nice job whatever it is, I dont dig the exhaust tubing through the hood for effect but its a nice truck and makes you scratch your head.
This is the HAMB, it will be identified shortly after everybody gets their coffee in them.

I think it's a 59 international harvester cab . Chopped with a dodge front end melded into it.

In the ford employee newsletters, the pictures of pickups from SA and Australia in the 70's and newer looked like the trucks we had here in the US.

Im going to second the IH/Dodge combo. I think the only one who could tell for sure would be the builder.

  20. Or abortion.

Looks like it has an Ausi grill, the rest may be a first gen Effie all wellded together.

I think it's a "Bitsa"..... Bits of this and bits of that. Individual components are dead ringers for certain makes/models but are inconsistent with the others. Note how the left door 'fits', or not, at the windshield pillar.

The grille looks more like a Japanese SUV component. There is no assurance it's a Ford...maybe the chassis or engine is..who knows? We may never know, but if we do find out, I'm betting a custom build from scrounged parts.

A South American Dodge truck would likely be a Fargo, but I don't remember any difference beyonfd the name labels in appearance from a plain Dodge.

  23. Looks vaguely Russian or Chinese to me, with a big dose of mix-and-match thrown in...

Hi. Ever hear of customizing the front fenders & nose? Looks like that has happened.

Here is an Aussie truck with a similar grille:
A Ford K1110. Apparently, the Ford Thames Trader K series was introduced i Aussie Ford truck.JPG n the early 1960s and were produced until 1972.

The split hood sure looks mid-late 50's Dodge. Whatever it is would best be described as collection of parts and not any specific truck. I also would add beauty is in the eye of the beerholder, and it takes a lot of beer for me to like that.
