The tapered aluminum cone is off of a roller conveyer to send items/boxes around a corner. The base is the pivot cup at the trans on a Ford torque tube. The paint gun is (circa) 60's vintage, I drew up the legs and web and had them water jetted. The balls on both are old bearings, heated to take out the hardness so they could be welded. A buddy pinstriped them.

The best paint went to this clean Econoline pick up, the other I didn't get a pic of but it was a late 40's Plymouth coupe.

Our club organized a small car/bike show again.Looks like homemade trophies are our shows trademark.People likes them and i think its cooler to receive something unique than boring cheap-o trophy. The trophies looked like this at this year:

One I threw together for the Stray Kat Starliner in Wichita last month. It's not striped yet, looked better finished.

I have been working part time for a local shop and was asked to make 5 additional trophies for a show hosted at the shop, here is what I came up with.

The car parts used are, misc. parts from a 4x4 transfer case, model A starter drives, cam gear, main trans gear cluster, end of torque tube. The timing chain and two crank gears are from a 331 Hemi, tapered cone in from a conveyer, bearings are from CV joints, crowns made from tubing, the base of one is a pair of SBC engine mounts. Powder coating as well pin striping was done by local friends.

    Pics next post.

Both are club picks for my 34. The one on the left is from Sacramento 2012 autorama from Mala Famalia and the one on the right is a Poor Boys club pick at a local show.
