Anybody done this?Looks to me I'll have to do major trans crossmember mods for the trans mount.I know the 250 is a little longer,so I'll have to mount it as close to the firewall as possible. And mods to the radiator support.I'm most concerned about the trans crossmember.

I have just done a turbo 350 in a 63 c10. Had to completely remove the original bellhousing / motor mount cross member and fab a new trans mount( 1.5 x 1.5 square tubing) for the 350 trans mount. Took 3 hrs just to remove stock rivets and still had to cut old crossmember in half to get it out.

it's been i while but if i remember right we bought motor mounts from from ch***is engineering[?] and we added a small piece of 1/4 x2 along the back edge of the original ****** mount to bolt the 350's mount to. the radiator we moved to in front of the support to give it more room. this was on a '53 back in 1993 so i could be a little fuzzy on the details. i do remember i thought it was easy.

I did this in a 48 Fleetline. I used 70 chevy pick up motor mounts. I might have inverted them or switched sides, I can't remember. They just laid over the top of the frame, and I welded them in place. Made a trans cross-member, put in a 57 chevy rear ended and went down the road. I realize your car is a generation newer, but I had no radiator issues, but did have to go to electric fans. Hope this helps a little.

I ended up just tearing in to it.Got the engine and trans into the engine bay, trans pan hits the crossmember, engine not far enough back.So I cut out the middle of the crossmember, now the engine goes back far enough. Now I have to fab a new section of crossmember and make a trans mount.Lucky I work at a metal fab shop.
