Has anybody got pictures of how to raise the rear fender wells on a channelled A sedan, I know how I would do it, but I think asking on here is a sensible idea, as I might be missing something important :(

It would really help to have pics. We can only ***ume that you have an A sedan that is channeled and you must think it sits too low and want to know how to raise the wheel wells up in the body. If all this is correct, you either un-channel it or cut them out, raise them up to where you want them then weld them back in. Simple sounding but I may have missed some thing and it is more work than it sounds. Tim

Tim is right, post pictures...I've never done it myself but have seen it done...cut the fender wells our, then, using the same radius, cut the metal above the fender wells to where you want it, weld back on...it is a lot of work, the kind of thing I would have a custom shop do if I could afford it...

Im not doing a A, but an 33 Austin 7 sedan, AKA Austin Bantam, which in design & shape is very similar to an A but about half the size, with the car at ride height, my wheels sit on the top of the fender well, so the obvious thing is to lift the wells up, I was going to cut a section from each side of the radius vertically and a horizontal cut across the top but removing 2" from that, then remount and weld back, I do see a problem as the body gets slightly wider as it goes up, so I might need to split the corner, suggestions please gentlemen.

Interesting body, the belt line is different and doesn't have the revel at the bottom that goes around the fender or the exposed subrail. Almost looks more like a 32 than a Model A, the Austin Bantams here weren't really a sedan, no back seat looked like a shortened four door sedan. Should be able to cut the fender well and make the pieces to fill it back in fairly easily. I think the back edge needs to go back a little farther to keep the flow right.

ditto^^ flatten the radius to make both ends flow into the ends of the opening. It would look really cool if you could find/make some sort of reveal or flair for the opening. Tim
