In Michigan, there are a few. Our club, The Nightmares, caters to specifically early customs and hot rods. HotRod2Hell has the newest car in the club being a really cool drag/street car '62 Chevy II.
Another local club that comes to mind is the Michigan Cruisers. Mostly old, grey haired milkshakes, they mostly have customs. Most of their cars have history. No newly built cars here.
The list goes on but we are still out there and getting stronger.

Cool guys! Do you think that it would be possible for the very, VERY GENEROUS AND UNDERSTANDING :D ;) people at H.A.M.B. to put the clubs on a link website or something? A bit of a community for the clubs where we could arrange meetings for BBQ's and shoot outs and stuff??

The Branchville Injectors are a reincarnation of an area club that existed from 57-62.

I'm in the Choppers Hot Rod ***ociation of Cleveland, Ohio. Always an active club with a clubhouse, meeting every Thursday since 1956. There are some members from the fifties, some from the last few years, and everything in between. Some are serious drag racers(past and present), some build and drive rods and customs. Ages 28-70, very diverse, but very close knit.

Established in 1956 and still going strong today. This year marks our 50th anniversary.
We still have a few original members. They are grumpy but still love hot rods.
PM me your address and I'll send you out commerative 50th anniversary magazine chock full of pictures and stories.
Roadmates on the HAMB are Brush, me, Mitch and a couple others.

The Greazy Hubcapz used to be cool till everyone started crying like babies.

Now the club is split in half.

Really it ****s. Even a "no dues, just fun" car club gets torn apart by DRAMA.....

I swear, if you get more than ONE person together at any given time, there will be a crying match and somebodies feelings will get hurt.

This is a picture of our latest club meeting...

It was me, me, and me...haha, no cool local club around here. There is a local "rod and kustom" club, but they are a bunch of 50 year old snobby pukes. I wish I had a local group to hang out with.

In Central Illinois there were primarily two clubs: The BARONS and the VAGABONDS;...I am fortunate to know two of these guys (one from each club) The lone Baron I know has an 32 Deuce Roadster that he originally bought in 1955! Today it is powered by an Ardun-Head Flat-Motor with 4 2's and an early 60's vinntage Borg Warner 4-speed! Full fendered, it's ALL steel. The man who drives it virtually all over the country was one of the first "Charter" Members of the National Street Rod ***ociation, and probably forgot more about Hot Rodding than I'll ever know! It's such a rush to sit with him as he recounts local hot rodding history. He also owns a recently finished black 40 Ford Coupe with a 300 horse 327, WWW Cokers and chrome reversed rims. These guys are like "walking encyclopedias of a lotta stuff I'd like to know! I'm very lucky to see them on a weekly basis at breakfast in a local Resturant. They are, unfortunately, a "dying breed" in many respects, and that's why I make a point to show them the respect thay have earned and deserve!

a car club is only as 'cool' as the sum of it's members...and the cars, hairstyles, pomade, fashion, musical tastes, come second... i can have all the latter alone but it's the TRUE BROTHERHOOD and UNCONDITIONAL LOVE that makes a car club 'cool'.
