I met Tommy many years ago at a local rod run in Mexico Mo., hosted by a local club called "The StreetMasters". He was always a good friend and just wanted to get the most out of this hobby and the people involved with it. He always had good words of encouragement for what ever hunk of junk I happened to be driving, even though his cars were always pretty nice stuff. We kept in touch by running into each other at different car events, anything from the street rod nationals to, a cruise night. We always had a good time visiting and of course talking hot rods.I have some good memories of him, for example: one day I was driving one of my hot rods about 100 miles from home and all of a sudden, I noticed a plain wrapper white sedan coming up behind me very fast, with its lights flashing, I thought I was had, turned out to be Tommy, he said he had saw the car and new it had to be me or Kenny (choprods) , and he just wanted to see it up close,he was in a company car on the road for work. Man I was relieved to see his smiling face and yes he was laughing, said you thought I was a cop didnt ya?
And here is another, and I may be all washed up on this, because I never saw this, but he once told me he had a 37 dodge truck he wanted to build into a rod ( which he eventually did) so in order to make sure he kept it and did do it, he built a family room in the basement, and when he did this, the 37 dodge was trapped in the house, later had to do some precise carpenter work to get the truck out, to build his dream! Now thats a hot rodder I can look up to!
How do I say goodbye to a friend like him? I wont, Im gonna keep him in my thoughts no matter what happens, and on one of my best days in one of my hotrods, going down the road, Im gonna think about him and some of those old days and just smile to myself and realize how much I miss him.
Tommy I will see you later. Reggie.

Tommy did pass away last night. From what I understand they had him on Morphine at the end, so he shouldn't have been in any pain.

For you local guys, as soon as I hear anything definite about arrangements, I'll post it. I heard last night that they were going to hold visitation at Memorial Funeral home in Columbia, MO, then have the Funeral at the Christian Church near his home in Millersburg, where he lived all his life. I was also told that they have made arrangements to carry the casket in a Rodded truck instead of a Hearse.

    Dedication to our own....

I am your shadow at stride, you walk not alone.
I am your blanket of comfort, when you're cold as stone.
I am your strong echo, each time you speak my name.
I am your net of tears, until strength you regain.
I am in your laughter, as you remember the past.
I am the memory, through eyes that will last.
I am the wind on your face, as you chase your dreams.
I am your needle and thread, as you mend broken seams.
I am the sun in the morning, as you face each new day.
I am a star at night, helping to guide your way.
I am the words "I miss you", until you can reach home.
And just as sure as God's love,
    you are never alone.

Sounds like a wonderful character, I'm sorry I never got to meet the man.

Condolences to those he left behind. That intro he wrote had me all choked up.

We have known Tommy and his family for a long long time. He was a great person, father, husband and friend. He will be missed forever. We were fortunate to have spent some time with him shortly befor his passing. He put up a great fight and had lots of love and support from his family and many many friends. Our deapest sympathy to Tommy and his family.

  27. I spent several hours with Tommy at the HAMB Drags '04. He didn't know we had never met. The man had a lot of heart. We have a lot to loose.
