So I have this tri power intake that is sized for 1955 Chev 265 heads and I want to run it on a set of 1957 heads with larger ports. I have not picked up a set of gaskets to lay it out (but I will if I decide to go this way) but I am considering port matching the manifold to the later heads. There appears to be plenty of "meat" there to do this, and again if I do it will be carefully laid out with die and a scribe. So my question is, would you do it or search for another "vintage" manifold? I do not want to run a new manifold on it.

As long as the intake port is smaller than the head and none of the head protrudes into the manifold port you are fine. Not much gain for normal street activity

the intake ports are a great deal smaller on the manifold, I will lay it out and make sure no head protrudes into the tiny intake ports, I imagine if it did it would "pool" gas. I figured if the intake was smaller it would probably be fine but thought I'd get the question out there to the pros...
