I have a 383 SBC with a roller cam, I need a decent reliable pump to feed it. Anyone bought a good one?
Whatever you do, make sure it pushes and doesnt have to **** the fuel out. In my first setup the pump had to **** fuel from my tank, changed them every few weeks. Now fuel drains to the pump and it pushes to motor, works like a dream
I have a Carter on one car and a Holley on another. They both work well, but are noisy. I would like to know which ones are quiet.
Magnafuel "QuickStar" series seems to be popular with Road Racers. They have a built in filter , adjustable pressure , return byp*** port [at the pump] so you can run a deadhead fuel line up to the carb. Another way to do it , is use a Bosch 044 EFI pump and a byp*** regulator up by the carb and a decent sized return. The Bosch pumps can generally do a couple of 100,000 miles trouble free
