There was a book out a few years ago on restoring/updating a 51 Chevrolet. Does anyone remember the exact name of it?
I'd be embarr***ed asking for search info or for anything at all on my first post on any forum. Bad bad newbee. This is a traditional hotrod forum. A 51 Chevy is a perfect candidate for a Custom. If you don't have the balls to cut it up move on. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/my-51-chevy.664155/#post-7374504
The GM shop manual is available online at the old car project. That should get you going depending on what direction you're taking the car.
I think Street Rodder published a magazine with all their 49-52 Chevy build articles. I have one somewhere but I havn't seen it for a while.
Yep they have to be customize not "restored" We don't want to get Jim riled up again talking about "restoring" cars.
Here we go again, I guess I should of took a vote to see what kind of car I bought and what I should do with it.
Thanks for the clues, "Street Rodder" and "49-54 Chevy". It's called "Build a 49-54 Chevy". By the way, I joined the forum back in 2009. I truly enjoy the site and appreciate the knowledge of the members.
