Great car. Get it running, brakes, and drive it. I never will understand why someone would put time and money like that and not use the car.

Beautiful! I'd swap out the sealed beam conversions, reverse the front spring eye, put two ducks on the flathead and call it perfect. Great score, wish we knew more to the story!

I had a 38 standard tudor that I loved. That sweet thing is the bomb. Talk about done just right! Yikes

This is absolutely one that I would say, get it running and make sure it is safe and drive the hell out of it, and for the record I don't usually agree with all of the guys that say that.

I would clean it, change the fluids and enjoy it. I wouldn't rod one that perfect. A Model-A no problem but those things are pretty rare.

Congratulations on scoring your beautiful 38 coupe. They are quite rare out here in the Northwest.

Wow Dude, you hit a grand slam! I love the accessory headlight rims. I wouldn't do a thing to the car except get it running, make it safe and enjoy the heck out of it. Unless of course you want to sell it to me! Great find!

Maybe some people just like the car itself and not necessarily the driving of it. Its not always just about driving one around for the enjoyment. We are all different.

  24. That's one way to keep people away from your car- build a wall around it with no exit. Man, my favorite part is driving them, I can't imagine doing that.
    Great car congratulations.

Great find on a really nice car. Any more details on how this became available? Did the owner decide to sell, or were you dealing with his heirs. The story behind this one is interesting to me. Why'd it get parked and walled off.

A great find, not my favorite front sheet metal but an exceptionally nice car.

The 38 Ford Standard Coupe is my favorite old car and you look to have a very nice one. I wouldn't modify it since it is in such nice shape. Contact me if you have cable brakes that need adjusting, I can probably talk you through it. Here is mine (not as nice as yours):
