All you guys with your rules for buying and what you won't look at are the same guys wondering how I "get so luck" with so many deals....

News flash....it ain't luck. You gotta get out and find the stuff and ****ty ads that everyone else is to good to make a phone call on are a #1 source.

I hate the Facebook sale/swap sites....nothing but a place for lonely wanna be car guys to "chat". The worst part is these guys think you have your phone surgically attached. They get pissed if you take more than 5 minutes to reply to their message. Or they send 5 texts a minute apart all in that stupid abbreviated jibberish that's impossible to understand.

"Needs restoration"...really? What the hell does that mean?
Oh, and Bennno, your Jeep pickup ad is ok except for the high price. I'd go 2500

Hi Bob, remember when I got my 26 RPU. The seller had just taken the Hemi and g-box out. He said in the ad that its been rewired (all wires were black) and just drop a motor and box in and be on the road in a weeko_O...ha ha ha ha ha, that was 3 years ago:eek:. Redone all the engineering, wiring etc. im amazed it hadn't fallen apart.
Any way have a Merry Christmas buddy and all the best for 2015. JW:D:D
Oh.... and life is better with a Willys or two:rolleyes:

there is one right now on craigslist chicago south subs that s a real duzzy , not going to post it but if you try a old chevy you'll find it ..

as for me the guy who sold me my car , only had a few pictures of it , but he was worth the trip when I asked if it was a 2 door and he said it was rough . was in better shape than I expected . and he came down on the price because he was sick of the BS of e bay and people backing out of the bidding , and I paid cash . plus he made sure all the parts he promised were with the car and gave me some stuff that wasn't too . ( he didn't have a need for it and was sick of the selling B.S.)

I like it when the only picture in the add is taken head on so you can't tell its a four door.

When I bought my 55' stude 17 yrs ago, it was completely dis***embled. After I struck the deal with the seller, I returned two weeks later to find my newly acquired project COMPLETELY re***embled. I was expecting to return to a shell with parts hanging out of every open window, and boxes full of "what the hell did those come off of?". He explained in detail to me the odd things studebaker did ***embling their cars. He told me he day-of-the-drags-2014-texas058.jpg wanted to me to dis***emble it so I would see how it all went. Not many people that would go to those lengths left around anymore.

My favorite is "make offer. I know what it's worth so no low ballers". What the hell is that? If you know what it's worth then put a price on it.

    Bwahahahaha!

I tried to get a buddy to re-market his CL ad and told him to add a hot chick looking pissed and a nerd looking at the car then say, "Girlfriend says 'it's me or the car'" he didn't do it but did rewrite and ad better pics.

Good pics in a good location and a good write up will weed out a lot of crack heads and get you more $$ quicker than a car/truck/tractor out there in better shape than your own.

this is funny that this has come up now. i had the same kind of deal the other day. i have a mid '60's fed setup for 440 motor and shorty torqueflite trans, which i already have, all rebuilt. i am not a dragster kind of guy, i like altereds but, i got ****ered into the fed by a friend? "oh i have always wanted to drive a fed" but after i got it, it was "oh my wife would never let me drive that". then i was stuck with it. so i retro fitted all the stuff to make it legal to race today, painted it, got new slicks and such. i put it on cl and waited for the calls. i got several but no one came. then i see an add for a '47 plymouth for about what i wanted for the fed. the ad also says he would take a rolling dragster. so i call and he says sounds great. i make a day to go see the plymouth and the day before i go, he emails me and says he didn't think it would work for him.WTF. what kind of rolling dragster was he looking for.?
