So the OSH in Gilroy, CA wants me to help them put together a car show in a few months to mark the 75th Anniversary of OSH. I would like to get an old timey 30s-40s style jump blues band to play outdoors and they are going to rope off the parking lot for pre-66 customs, classics, and rods. "IF" I can get this all together in time would some of you guys attend? There would be a small registration fee and that would include chances to win raffles and prizes. Does anyone know of any vendors that might be interested in this event? Please contact me badluckbetty13@yahoo.com
Gilroy? Arent they known for Garlic Peanut butter and Garlic Ice Cream? If they take back RenoRats bumb can of primer (what is that like $1.50), then I might consider.... Hyfire
WHAT!!!!!!!!?????? I ran the customer service desk and I use to let guys exchange defective cans all the time! What OSH was this at?
HAHA! Shit I'll give him a can. Yes, the garlic festival is in Gilroy. It is the Garlic capital of the world
Sounds like fun...and I return stuff there all the time! They don't have 3/8" npt pipe taps, oh well.
Ya know.... they will be having raffles and I am going to rig it where if you enter a car you get your name in the drawing so YES it's quite possible.
party! Yeah they don't carry everything however once Sears sells us they want to get back to hardware and less of the "softer side of Sears" bullshit like stuffed animals and pillows that light up, decorative wall plates with fat italian men on them throwing pizza, and say bye bye to the fuzzy throw pillows.
Welp it's in stone set for Saturday May 7th and I am looking to get Stompy Jones (a 30-40s style jump blues band to play). I am also working on getting some food vendors (popcorn, hot dogs, snow cones, and cotton candy). Any other suggestions?
I think I should be able to make it, I know there is always some good cruisin' (mostly low riders) that weekend in San Jose for Cinco de Mayo....
So, what time do you think I should start this shindig? I figure you guys need to get there a little early to get the cars all settled in. Let me know what sounds best. They are letting me run the show so whatever you guys want goes..... and no that does not mean I will get a beer garden and NO wet T-shirt contest.
That can be arranged. Hell even if you eat the regular flavored cotton candy outside I'm sure it would taste garlicky (that is a word in Gilroy haha).
mmmm... garlicky... And dammit if I doesn't smell wonderful everytime I drive 152 over the hills... Maybe, just maybe, I'll have something by then worthy of putting in the show... I can dream, can't I.
i don't know if they do it up here, but in soCal, In-N-Out burger has a trialer they bring to events and they cook their burgers right on site. just like the drive through. if that doesn't work, i always like a big carne asada cook off...
