I'm having a cam ground for my Buick Nailhead by Berry Cam Service, Lester Prairie, MN. Don't know much about these folks but they have been grinding cams since 1958, for about everything.
I guess its a little too late to ask about them after you have contracted them. Never heard of them. Is there a problem?
Do you have a current link to there website? I can't seem to find it since they had a fire a few years back.
At our tractor repair shop, we use them for regrinding camshafts and resurfaceing lifters. Excellent work and service. You Will be satisfied!
My engine builder, Ray Funk, Mankato, MN is having them do a cam for us. They seem to be well thought of around MN. Just wanted to hear what others think. http://berrycammn.com/
i've heard good things about them , but never used them. Ray Funk knows his stuff..if he is using them they must be OK
Berry Cam does great work! They have perfected a "spray weld" to repair flat lobes. They have done stock grinds for me but can do custom grinds to your specs. You have no worries!??
Looking forward to getting the Berry Cam so Ray can complete this engine, my first Nailhead. 2014 will be a great year with my new Model A. Life is good for old hot rodders!
Yup, great guys, very knowledgeable. A hidden gem, if you will... Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Back in the 60's and early 70's I used Berry cams in my race car, great power, great service. He had some good cams for short track use, lots of torque coming off the corners. I did'nt know they where still in business. I'll keep them in mind on my next project. It's good, some things never change.
LOL so true Good guys, they have done work for me before. I will check on t-shirts hrp. I will be at the machine shop next week, I am having them polish and balance a crank. Tim
I drove to meet them once about 15 years ago. You walk in and see the usual number of late model engines, then look around and see things you never knew existed. The ground me a Y block cam that had a mid range than was unbelievable. Good people and good prices.
Berry was recommended to me years ago by a machinist who I trust. However, I found this thread: http://www.yesterdaystractors.com/cgi-bin/viewit.cgi?bd=pulling&th=148835 Opinions? I'd like to use Berry, since they're nearby, but the tractor thread has me a little worried.
