I love the new lenses. The Lee ones are neat because of their history, but more in a wall-hanger type of way. Installed, especially with red paint, they don't even look like tail lights, they look like little plastic covers.

Same here... The Lee's although early custom, have a trailer light lense look. The Pontiacs are a really nice mild custom touch....Would like to see your stuff some day...., it's all awesome..

Much improved with the Pontiac lenses. Appreciate the work you had to do to make 'em fit. Love the whole car by the way.:)

Much better for a street driven car. You gotta be seen now days, especially when stopping!

  10. What an improvement, the Lee Lenses on a '55 Chevy were cool but they just seemed to take away from the Impala, at least they did for me. I don't doubt that your brakes lights are more visible and the look is a tremendous.

That small change made a BIG difference. Just don't wait 20 years to make the next change, I may not be here to see it ;).

I'm with the majority - the new lenses look great ! I DO like the old Lee lenses too , but it's more important for the cell-talking & texting people to actually SEE your lights . You've got a really nice car there - gotta keep it around another 20 years !

I'm on the fence. Mainly because when I was a kid, the local hot shoe had a '61 Belair bubbletop with those Lee lenses. And it was Honduras maroon. And a W motor. And a 4 speed. I think his had diamonds or spades or something like that on 'em. I thought they were just cooler'n hell (still do). The update looks good, and function better too I'm sure. I just hold a special place an old maroon bubble with those lenses. Your '61 takes me for that ride every time I see it posted. Great car. :D

I have a bunch of lee lenses in a display case, I have been collecting them for years. I do like em too and I do have some of those white ones with a shield emblem on em.. They are cool

Dig what you ended up with.

I get the history of the Lees, but the repe***ive pinstripe design looked a bit odd to me.

The Lee's are cool for what they are.."Lee" lenses..

But the Pontiac's look much better in my valueless opinion :)
The chrome rings on them add a lot to the back of the car...
    Look reeaaaalll good!!

Lee lenses are cool, but I love those Pontiac lights in that car! You have such a cool collection of stuff, you ought to charge admission and give tours

I know the Lee lens are nostalgic, but I also think they lack.......imagination. Although you have taken yours up a notch with the striping, I think the Pontiac lens looks pretty cool. But that being said, I think the stock tailights look better than the Pontiac units. But I know that customs are all about, well, being custom. Doesn't matter much because either way, you got it made! I've posted some stock tailights below for your viewing pleasure. :)
