Sorry the picture of the full grill in the last update was the old picture. You can tell by the next to bottom tube being short on each end. This is the finished product.
Looks great and you were able to hide the huge front turn signals which were the one styling flaw of Ford in '55 imho.
OK ordered 5/8 stainless tubing .035 wall. Came from metals on line. Needed 7 pieces so got 4 6ft long and three 7ft long. Then needed a 5/8 tubing bender so found that on e bay. In the center for the bend have to vut a small piece of pie out so it will bend. I didn't do this yet but that cut probably really needs to be welded and cant do it with the Mig. Need Tig for that because the tube is so thin. the brackets are 1/8 inch steel 2 inch wide. draw center line and 1 1/4 apart drill 5/8 hole. When you have the seven holes drilled cut down center. Now you have a bracket for each end. When you stainless tube is laying in the half hole you cab tack it with Mig on back side. Keep the weld more on the steel and you wont burn threw the tube. Only tricky part is bending the ends, and making both sides the same. Go for it and have fun. I have seen guys use flat stainless instead of the tube.!! use about like 3/16 thick 3/4 inch wide. You can paint the sides flat black and leave the front edge polished stainless.
