Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Groucho, Jan 5, 2015.

  1. Is it a single or double (safety) latch? THX

  3. I thought so (and it would make sense).....but both doors only grab once no matter how far out I adjust the striker

If they are repos, throw them away. If not, the inside door handle pulls to open, pushes to lock. It has a spring and a detent and if it's worn, or not resting in the right spot, the latch won't double click. If the ramp on the striker or the "teeth" are worn on the latch, it will cause that problem too. Will it double click if you open the door and press it by hand?

double. The doors and latches on those trucks are a pain in the ****. The lower driver side hinge, where it bolts to the door, the door will crack and the hinge will move around in the door. The latch and striker get worn out, and the repops are not very good. You won't find a good original latch anywhere.

  6. Any suggestions? Will the one and only position fail soon? Or is it more durable than the back up position that's gone? How bad are the repops? THX.
