So who's the idiot, the guy asking for a $44,000 bid or the guy making a $44,000 bid?

if you look at the bidder's previous activity, he is buying junkyard parts for a late model chevy silverado, 30 bucks here, 20 bucks there. i seriously doubt he's a player on this car.
he's probably the seller's buddy trying to 'pump up' the auction. i can't find the bidder's location to see if it is close to the seller's. that's usually a dead give away, and a common mistake made by dishonest e-bayers.

by the way, this is the seller's first time on e-bay, that would make me nervous as a buyer...

I think both of them are idiots. I NEVER buy anything from someone with zero feedback- I don't care how good of a deal is...let alone some overpriced car I haven't even seen up close nor can he verify the mileage....for FORTY FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS....

They are prolly buddies. Great first auction. No feedback. He's a meathead. I'll give him $19.95. But wait, that's not all......I'll also kick him in the *** for being a meathead.

  8. Bidder could almost be someone on here, he's had a '59 Dodge and a nice '52 Fleetline if you check his ME page. Could also be goofy, but with a reserve his bid is safe from actually having to buy anything.

"Which moter is in the car?" "stock" .. okay which one? There were 3 V8's that year...

The one justifying the price is amusing too.

This is too funny... I go check out the auction and it is my wife's insane freakin cousin's husband selling the car... It is in good shape. His dad was the original owner and the mileage is correct...not a hemi car....That guy is nuts... He asked me what it was worth when his dad died.. He told me he would never sell the car... I guess he needs more crack now...He just sold off his dad's house and blew all the money from it...I am positive it is a sock puppet bid from one of his buddies....I gotta keep an eye on this....EVILT

  17. There's another guy with a '57 Dodge 4dr with a D500 hemi in it... seems reasonable at $4000 until you look closer.

He's keeping a bunch of stuff for his convertible and 2dr hardtop projects, and has Poly heads on the engine - but is leaving the rare D500 block. Supposedly the car has a HD frame and suspension. Nice obnoxious responses to the questions on it, too.

My book claims a production of around 500 for the '57 D-500 and at that all in 2drs and convertibles.

What kind of guy just hacks up an (apparently) old cop car? Those are super rare... I can find 20 or 30 57-59 Dodges in junkyards here, probably all the parts he needs and then some, except 325 Hemi heads.

I think that's half the entertainment of looking at eBay - all the idiots either selling cars or asking stupid questions and being obnoxious to sellers.

  18. yah, but YOU WILL PAY THE PRICE!!!

(sorry but that just cracks me up)

Who would pay $44,000 for a car that looks like an overweight and pissed off fish?

Ha Ha! :D If it's true and the car really is what it says, I can see it being worth that much to him {his dads} but jeeze, who would bid for that much???

  27. Yeah. The sad thing on this one is there's a good possibiility it was a real police patrol car, which 4-doors or not would make it probably one of less than a dozen, if not the only one, around. This guy doesn't give a damn because it's a 4-door. There's probably guys that would kill for something like that - you just can't find them anymore.

Anyone who goes by a name "piercer" in their ebay name is an obvious tool! Anyway there isn't a piercer out there that makes any money anymore! Its all down to imbred third cousins who didn't have a steady enough hand to hold onto a tattoo gun that they bought out of Huck Spaldings with some needles that they got from the speed-dealer artist with bad teeth and a hell of a mullet! You know the kind of people I'm talkin about, the ones that'll make you feel ripped off for the five dollar bill you gave him to pierce your belly :D
