How about a 2x2 intake for a straight eight pontiac. Edmunds used to make them but you can hardly find them anymore, Also a finned head for the same would go over good.......Seen more posts from other old poncho drivers asking for these parts. (Can't really make a speed demon out of one but they do look kool!)

    No ****.

How about some finned valve covers for the 318 Poly cheaper than $400! Maybe one of the 392 to 318 Poly intake adapters and/or valley covers we've been talking about over at the 318 Poly Forum.

    http://www.diamondbackengines.com/forums/index.php/board,6.0.html

Or the 318 Poly Yahoo Group:
    http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/318poly/

They way we could run whatever 392 intake we wanted (2x4, 6x2, 3x2, etc).

    I would like to see a three-two setup for a 331-354 Hemi. I also would like to see a 4 in a row for a 394...sweeeet...

For the polys, or any Poly-to-Hemi conversion, I really think intake adapters are the way to go, man. Think about it - you could use any 392 intake you wanted!

  9. Now that Weiand is out of the business. I'd be really happy to see manifolds for both the big (331-354) and small poly's, single 4 bbl, 2 x 4 bbls, and 3 x 2bbls.
    Thanks!

Yeah, the post-Holley buyout is really what saw the demise of the 7503/7504 4-bby single-plane/Dual-plane intakes (respectively).

Some could say the sold out. Others can say Holley made some cuts. Either way, they hurt my (and others') damn feelings. :(

I have a P600 (Edelbrock 3x2), and the Polys are rising in popularity. Seriously - consider the intake adapter/valley pan idea. It'll be cheaper that way.

  11. Yeah, what he said!:D

  12. Maybe others would disagree but I'd like unfinned aluminum valve covers . I think a smooth aluminum cover that said " Oldsmobile" or whatever in the manufacturer's original script would be unique . I've even considered grinding off the fins on my inliner Chevy valve cover . I may yet . How many finned aluminum covers can you look at before they become common place ? A smooth cover would grab your attention instantly !! I mean did you ever stare at an SBC finned cover and go "Wow !" Maybe fifty years ago . They're like belly ****ons now - everyone's got one . Put this in the dare to be different column

I would like to see anyone cast anything for the flathead 6 ford . Apparently they were quite popular with oval track racers in the early fifties because of the torque they produced and once in a while I see a $62,000 performance part for sale at a swap meet or on ebay , but , nothing a normal human can afford. swaZZie

  17. Weiand is still around...he just means that they dropped the Poly intake from their product line. :)

No, Weiand was bought by Holley a few years ago when (under a group of investors that bought Holley) they went ******* acquiring many, many holdings. So they're not out of business, they're a division of Holley:
    http://www.holley.com/index.asp?division=Weiand

Now, Holley on the other hand, is in bankruptcy. The investors pulled out, and it's more of a reorganization thing rather than a "going out of business" thing.

Make us some 318 Poly stuff - the 318 Poly community will love you forever. :D

Just thought I'd chime in with the other Pontiac owners that a valley cover for V-8's would be great. I tried to buy one from Moon back in the late eighties, but everytime I talked to them they said they were working on it. It's now 2008 and still no valley pan from them.

How about a 3x2 dual plane intake for Big Block Chevy using Rochester 2G carbs instead of those expensive *** Holley 2300's!

    Here's what I'm making:

    - '41 Studebaker taillights and new style buckets for them.

    - Old boat style flame arrestors. Not like anything currently produced.

    - Finned speaker covers. Recast of original old hotrod item.

    - Offy-style column drops to fit an F-1 box in a '32 closed car. All the correct angles.

If anybody might be interested in any of these parts, PM me and I'll let you know when I get a shipment from the foundry.

That was the OP, almost two years ago ...

But while we're at it, a manifold that'll put two rear-facing 2" SUs on a SBC?

I know this is an old thread. Ive been gettin a hankerin for some pattern making. Im trying to come up with some ideas on what people want out there. perhaps 6x2 log intake, valve covers, etc.

Im also on the hunt for old speed equipment casting patterns. Thanks
