Hey all.Did ford ever make a station wagon that had three doors? I recall a sw that we had as a kid that was a 56 57? that had two front doors and a door on the p*** side only. This was my dads car and had a Thunderbird motor in it.I hope I dont offend anyone but it had spaghetti bender on the tail gate.It was there when dad got it but mom made him paint over it real quick.

  2. I've seen alot of older he****s that had 3 doors, and then of course the extra big door at the back. Are you sure Dad wasn't driving you all around in a he****? I could even see the auto maker or funeral home having some fancy striping on the car that could get confused with "spagetthi bender". Another dead give away is if it had any curtains or smelled funny inside.

  3. NuSafari1.JPG The only vehicle I can recall that had a three door configuration from the factory was the Chevrolet Suburban produced in the mid 1960's.Of course my Safari has three doors but one isn't real.

Never remember seeing a 3 door Ford wagon unless you are referring to a ambulance.

  5. Danny,
I think what he is talking about we might call a 5 door, two front doors and only one back door then the hatch. yes I have seen mid '50s fords that were that way and Danny has it correct with his ambulance suggestion they were ambulances.

I can't imagine that anyone would be offended because your dad bought a car that said Spaghetti Bender on it, although I don't know what that has to add to your question.

Years ago I bid on a '57 Chevy wagon here in Knoxpatch, TN that had three doors on one side and two on the other. I didn't make the winning bid, but sure would like to know what became of that car. The PO had 11 children if I remember correctly and had it built by a custom coachworks.

This car had what I thought one door on the driver side, two on the p*** side and a regular two piece gate/window on the rear.I guess I must be remembering it wrong.Porkn****** ,That term can be used as a derogatory name.It dident add to the question,I was just reminiscing on my keyboard......lol

  8. Yea there was an Italian race crew when I was a kid that called themselves the Spaghetti Benders. I just figured that it was descriptive of the old car and that it probably belonged to an Italian guy before your folks got it.

One thing that I learned when I was very young, you can say anything as long as it is not spoken in malice. If someone chooses to be offended by it that's on them.

  10. Hell with 'em that got pants to get glad in just like they got pants to get mad in.

Something that everyone needs to learn, there has never been anything PC about being a rodder. There is a reason why the Boss calls us hoodlums.
