I am wondering what goes on the back of the timing cover the shop manual said something about a "camshaft thrust bearing surface" does something go there if so does anyone have any pictures and/or know where i can buy what I need????
I think the bearing surface is just a bump in the casting that keeps the cam from moving forward. I may be wrong as its been a while. I dont think it is a seperate piece
My cover dose not have any wear marks on it I would have thought it would if there was no other part there? Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Is this an aluminium or steel cover? The 8ba cam thrusts forward and does use the cover as a thrust face sometimes they can be a little worn on the alloy covers but a rule most are ok to be reused. There is no bushing or shim in there.
