Customs 54 Chev Hood Springs

    I have a 54 chev 210 that I need to remove the hood, sometime ago I seen something on making a tool to remove these springs. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thank you

    have you tried google? It has most everything I've ever searched for.

    Thank you,tb33anda3rd I went there and there is a lots on those springs
     
  5. Grab a handful of flat washers and insert them between the spring coils (with the hood open)'a few at a time, until the tension is off the spring mounts, then the spring can be removed by hand.

    since I had to remove my hood in order to trim it for the larger radiator, the springs popped off and fell between the fenders. putting them on was a snap with a few dollars worth of quarters and nickels, about a four inch stretch... bel air hood springs.jpg
