Any HAMBRs go to the NSRA events? How about Richmond?

I was wondering if any HAMBRs go to any of these events? The one in Richmond is the closest one to me. I was wondering if it would be fun to host a cookout or something prior to or during that weekend. I am sure there are alot of other activities during the event. I know it is a long ways away but it is never to early to plan something.

    No........

Dont bother, as for the cookout, they dont do this sort of barbarian ritual.

    Wine and cheese,maybe.

    Overweight women in poodle skirts

Men in shorts with loafers and white socks

    Heard enough?

I went last year to spectate and there was a contingent of non-shiny rods in attendance. Just thought it would be nice to get together with some like minded folks that work on their own real cars. Not the shiny show pieces.

York was good until they took away the camping. Now I'm waiting for their rolling 30 year exemption to reach my Yugo. I'm taking my Gremlin this year...going to crusie Richmond and Wisconsin street rod style. NSRA...what a joke!

York is always a good time with 5500 vehicles there and a fair sized swap.
The pictures from the NSRA Richmond show make it look like a fun time with lots of different cars there.
The Right Coast ***oc. are beginning to do shows down south this year. The ones they do in Syracuse and M***. are good events and the one at Myrtle Beach last fall was well attended.

I missed the Richmond event last year, but intend to go this year and am always looking for like-minded HAMBers to hang out with. Recommend we do a roll-call a week or two prior to the event.

If you're looking for other traditional hot rod events, I HIGHLY recommend the Jalopy Showdown in May(do a search on the HAMB and check out the website; www.jalopyshowdown.com). PM me if you'd like to form a caravan.

I went to richmond last year..

it was pretty cool, but in retrospect the best part of the show wasnt the show at all it was hanging out and visiting richmond..

I did get to see alot of friends, who i would see in york before they took camping away.

I plan to go to richmond next year, but it will mostly be to have the chance to eat more CUBAN food at KUBA KUBA, AND have another home cooked italian meal at MAMA ZU in downtown richmond..

Plus my pal phillip (squarekat) promises to introduce us to several other eateries!

I know Phillip P. Good guy and very talented. If I can get my 51 Pontiac wagon on the road by then, I would enjoy cruising around with you guys.

There were a couple really cool rides at Richmond last year. I'l be there again this year. Hell, you gotta do something while your drinking beer. Might as well be checking out cars.

The NSRA events are just like most other events ... in that if you go with a OPEN mind ... you can have a good time ... :)

It is not all one type of car or one style of vehicle ...
It is like a bag of M&M's ... a variety of colors and such.

I was at NSRA Louisville this past weekend .. and it was the same way but 11,000 plus rides. Some I loved ... some I would not even ride in ( safety issues ) and a LOT I could not afford ...

    I had a great time ...

    GO to Richmond ...
    Have FUN ... :)

  12. My connection to the NSRA goes way back to its inception. I have grown sad over they years to see what it has turned into. Nothing like what it was meant to be. That being said, I'd say go....look at the cars, enjoy the ones you like and walk past the ones you don't. :)
