Good Morning All, just picked up this ride on a trade deal. don't know a whole bunch about the Desoto, but from what I gather, parts from Chrysler and Dodge are interchangeable? needs a few things. I would like to find someone parting one out, as I need the front gl*** with outer and inner trim. some door handles. bumpers, and a few latches. but I can post that in another thread. but anyways, let me know what you think!!

  4. While it did come from Mother Mopar, I wouldn't say a Lot of Dodge and Chrysler parts will fit your DeSoto. Cool car though, I like em. Dad had a '50 Dodge with the fluid drive- I used to get to drive it in high school.

A guy near me has a 48 coupe. been sitting in his field for years along side a 40-41 plymouth 2dr sedan. Both seem to be complete, solid cars, but I don't think he would sell them.

Try visiting the P15-D24 forum. I think you'll gather a lot of good info there.

DeSoto was a lower priced version of Chrysler, a lot of parts like motor, trans, steering, suspension, brakes interchange. Trim parts, dash board, etc are different and some sheet metal like fenders are different.

Dodge was a smaller car with a smaller engine, different suspension, brakes, etc.
