Went out to a farm today to pickup some old s**** items and noticed a pair of familiar head lights looking through an old gate on a barn. I made my way over to the barn to find this old truck. To keep good relationships i didn't get to close because the owner wasn't with me. I found out that the original owner had p***ed away and it is kinda tied up. The truck has been parked for the past 30 some odd years. THe guys grandson told me that there was an A engine in another place that was turned over often and kept inside that he would let me have really cheap. I have thought about the truck all day. I'm still gonna keep working toward the truck though. anyway, enjoy!
...something about living vicariously through others ...and how i wish i was there to enjoy the find ...congrats!!!
Nice find. After being here for so long it's going to be a delicate situation if you intend to try and get it. Say just the right thing and you can load it up. Say the wrong thing and be facing the business end of a 12 ga. Frank
That was one of the things i have been thinking about also, The grandson that i talked to today that gave me the s**** said that the truck hasn't ran since he was 18 and he is now like 49. He told me that if it was up to him, he would give it to me, because he said he thinks it is to far gone to use for anything.(Glad he hasn't looked at most of my "good" junk)
Good luck to you......I have been chasing a 40' coupe for many years now and the ole' guy was going to build it for his son. Well long story short, he p***ed away a while back and the auctioned all of his stuff off but his ole' shop. I am trying to track down his daughter in Chicago to see about getting the 40'. And the funny thing is, he wanted to chat about carb's everytime I stopped by and I alway's asked about strombergs and come to find out, he was the go-to carb guy and his shop was stacked to the rafters with old ford carb parts. Oh yea, and my pop's picked up a Merc' motor this past week for the price of s****. Less than 60 bucks........ Chris Nelson Kansas
Sodbuster, Hope your stars line up on the '40 - looks like it needs battery & gas ... even has black paint ! Best of luck ! 302
As my brother would say...."You can't hit the target, if you don't pull the trigger". Good luck to both of you guys!!!! Keep us posted. Great finds. Matt
