still running manual steering on my 59, 38 years later. It's not hard to find a good deal on a used steering gear, and if you buy a few of them you can usually find one that is pretty nice, although even the nice ones need the pitman shaft bushing replaced, which isn't a real big deal.

If you can show us a picture or part number of the kit you're thinking of buying, we might be able to offer some ideas. But if there is no picture of it, I wouldn't buy it

That particular kit is not worth buying, the geometry is wrong. I've seen some guys try to use it...

If you can find a kit that puts the new steering box where the original was, then it would probably work fine.

The kit pictured here would be a good way to do it, but apparently it doesn't exist?

Ah, you found the picture. I had a lot of trouble navigating their web page. That might be the way to go, then.

A friend has had good experience with them and there products have been very good. I plan to use the 400 kit on my 57 Cameo.

I have a 350 with a 700r4 ****** ps and pb. I have the 76 chevy truck gear box and a 78 Chevy van tilt column. I can take pictures if you want

If I were to do it again I would just go with stock steering or do the Toyota gear box conversion. The pitch that you need for the steering column to input shaft is ridiculous. That is the only reason. I figured it out finally but I need to clean it up.
