I've been building this thing for a couple years now, but here are some photo's. This is a true barn find here in Minnesota. It needed some frame repair which I farmed out to the professionals. Although the floor was rusty it was complete. After blasting it , we found it to be very thin so a Drake floor was put in. It has a 4 in drop axle, stock rear end with swapped out 3.25 gears for the highway. The flattie was punched 60 over and will mate up to a 39 tranny. The paint is ok so I will put the body back on the frame and just drive the shit out of it!!!! The original grill was broken but while I was in Madison NC at the moonshine fest, I met an old shine runner who had his grill for sale . I bought it and also had the glove box signed by Junior Johnson. I highly recommend that shine fest based around Juniors Midnight Moon Distillery! Chassis has wheels now, I will update photo's soon.
Slowly but surely, next step is the gas tank. I'm looking at the larger 16 gal. For traveling purposes. Master cylinder and the lines and I can put the body on! No white walls !
Ya, we need some more pics! Winter time out there, lots of hours to build, eh? We spent ten cold years in Red Wing so I have some first hand knowledge of MN "balmy" season.
Looks good. I was at the blasters picking up some stuff and seen your 40 coupe there after the floors had been blasted, neat car. JEFF
Thanx guys for the replies. I've been away for awhile and a lot has happened, unfortunately not with the car. A tree fell on the garage last fall and I decided to build my dream shop, with help from Garage Journal! Hope to get back to the 40 soon.
