I was intending to install a Borgeson power steering conversion into my 56 Customline. Now I'm finding out that there could be an interference problem with the clutch linkage. Has anyone done this conversion that could shed some light on this. Thanks in advance for any help.
I saw that on their site too, a reason why I chose the hydraulic clutch. Somewhere I saw a pictorial of the instructions, but can't find it now
Another concern. Will I be able to retain the column shift mechanism after I shorten the column. I've pretty much resigned myself to go with a hydraulic clutch. Even though I eventually plan on going to a T5, I really don't want to cut my floor for a 3 speed stick at this time.
The Borgeson box bolts directly in. It literally took 5 min to install the box. I run a T5 with full hydraulic system. Column linkage will take some thought but should be doable. Easy peasy
I'm sure the members would really like to see pictures of yours installed, before the HAMB upgrade we had about 11 plus pages of members rides with build pics and sadly all those were lost
Go to any hydraulic hose shop. They have virtually anything you need and will make hoses for you fairly cheaply. There is a lot of talk about exhaust clearance but I had noNE using stock cast iron manifolds.
Here's a thread with some details on my Borgeson install... although I'm running a T5 and not using the stock column, so not sure if it's any help. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...wer-steering-conversion.919107/#post-10392691 Not sure what engine you're running, but if you're doing a SBF you might find my experiences with the pump and bracket helpful... I ran into some issues with the bracket Borgeson sells.
