I carried this thing for a half mile though the desert while hunting today , Anyone know what it is from ? Its got "Im old as hell rust" on it , Good shape, no bullet holes , Approx 47 " across the back . Any ideas welcome , Thanks guys
I know this is o/t ,but what were you hunting in the desert? If you were hunting a seat looks like you were succesful it might score good in Boone and Crocket!
I was quail hunting , Just imagine me draggin this with my left arm and trying to keep my shotgun ready in my right for the singles I was kicking up . Kinda OT but Ill do anything to keep this thread on the first couple pages
Looks like a typical late 30's early 40's four door Mopar car front seat frame. My '40 Chrysler has a similar one. They were originally upholstered over the metal frame and with a cushion on the bottom that was removable to get at the battery, that's how my '40 is. I'm bettin' someone in the 60's dragged that bitch out there to sit on while hunting and left it for nature to devour it's upholstery off. The springs with no wooden mounts is too modern a setup to go on anything newer.
California Department of fish and Game here. We noticed you removed this from the field without properly afixing a tag to it. A DFG agent will contact you on Monday, please be prepared to surrender your license, your camoflage, and your hip flask. I believe it is a bit earlier MOPAR, as most 40's stuff is 52/53 inches wide.
