Being a closet deuce *****, I don't spend enough time studying the differences of the other years of Ford parts...such as this firewall. First glance tells me it's 33/34. But then I thought maybe 35/36 pickup/sedan?
It's a small pic from an auction site a bunch of us are going to next week, and I want to know what I'm bidding on...what say ye?

THANKS TO SEADOG for enlarging the pic for me

Looks 34 to me. I think 33 and early 34 did not have an x shaped reveal in the side piece Also the hood latch is different between 33/34 but can not tell in the picture.

Hi Larry: First impression is its a '33. Better pic of it would help. I say '33 cause it doesn't seem to have to hole in the cowl for a '34 type hood latch. Tim

My description was off, meant 33 because of not having the reveals on the side.

I've got s '34 5 window, and it's identical other that the Lower Hoodside latch hole. So I'm thinking, '33

I'm thinking 34, looks to have dimples on top edge for hood rest. Just can't tell for sure on the hood latch area, could be a hole or little bracket.

Yep, itsa 34. Notches on the top edge to hold the hood in the up position, and the small holes in the lower corner for the 34 hood hooks.

get there early and bring enough dough, or that cowl will be gone with the schwinn.

Been around 33/34 Fords for nearly 50 years now.
    No question.............that's a 33/34 Ford firewall !!

Hey 3wLarry...........too far for me to go to that auction but would be interested in that Ford 500 Galaxie.
Looks like it's perhaps blue in the picture and has a cream or white interior.
Also looks like perhaps there is a crease down the length of the drivers door and into the front fender.
Would be curious to know if that goes in that auction and if not, who I might contact about it.
If you have the time to scope it out that is.
    Thanks 3wLarry!

That is a '34 firewall because of the small detent on each side to rest the hood, foreign or domestic.

I don't know if it's a '33 or '34, but I'm certain it's fibergl*** spayed with patina paint & then sprinkled with lawn clippings. Better take a magnet. :)

Definitely 34 due to the notch on upper lid for the hood and hole in the lower cowl for the 34 handle. 33's had neither.

Glad you're back Larry...........The indents on the top edge for the hood make it a 34.

34cowl3_14_09.jpg 34cowlside.jpg [A/ATTACH] Glad I opened this thread because I had no idea whether my cowl was a 33 or a 34. I bought it locally back in '09 and it appears to be a 33 with no holes in it for latches. Thanks!
Old original 34 cowl had hole
