    hi FB,
i think we all suffer from ADD in hot rodding, especially the parts collecting.
liking your mock up mate, will be very interested in seeing progress made on your build thread.

Frank, your coupe looks great with the hood. I was talking to Tony last evening and he said after the reliability run you are keen to get moving on your coupe. I may be down in a couple of weeks, so I can see your progress first hand.
I haven't posted anything in a few days. I have had a lot on my mind as regards my job and have been agonising over a pretty major decision about work. I think I have come to that decision, but still need to put the wheels in motion to make that decision final. I talked briefly with Tony about it last night and his thoughts helped.
So this morning I went looking for some images to put on this post. You know I haven't been down to Rita and Tony's in quite a while, so I sought of tend to forget about my 3W ( I think Tony can relate to this as regard to his 5W that is still here ). Anyhow looking for images I came across a whole bunch I took when we were messing with wheels after we painted my 3W. So here are 4 more images of my 3W ( with a couple also featuring Tony's roadster ) to bore you all to tears with!

Hello Boys, We just got back from seeing our newest grandchild that was born yesterday . Jody and baby are doing well , her name is Gia Scarlett and she is our seventh grand child, and yes we are over the moon. Geoff I am really glad we talked last night and I know you will make the right decision . And I really like the last shot too, those Kelsey's are cool and suit the Moe kid . I also went to Franks place today and we lined up his boot lids on his coupe, next job will be the head lights and the posts .

Yeah congratulations Tony. Gia missed out on a shot in the Lowlids Kids pictorial. Ah well maybe I will do another some day.
Yeah I am glad we talked Tony. Ted rang today and he basically offered the same advice.
'The Moe Kid' just doesn't sound right.
Yeah I take a real lot of shots and occasionally one turns out pretty good!

Thanks for the comments Jock. Yes it is a diary of what we are up to. Not just with the hot rods, but a bit of our regular lives as well.
Hey Mark. No the question of our 3W being full fendered was never really considered. Besides Tony now has the 5W to maintain any desires he may have for a full fendered stock grilled '34.
For me our 3W has always had to have a track style nose. I may have needed to convince Tony that this was the way to go. But he is very comfortable with our choice now.

  24. Cool pics man, reckon the second one coulda been taken in '59;).

  25. I was flicking through a couple of my photo albums where I keep my car photos earlier and found a couple of interesting ones. I thought I'd throw 'em up here for you guys to have a look at.

    A couple of familiar ones.

    Some others I found interesting.
    001.jpg 004.jpg 002.jpg
This next one is the first hot rod/street rod I ever rode in. It was owned by a friend of my dad and he moved to Queensland for work for about 6 months so he asked dad to look after the car for him until he got back.
    007.jpg

I know this last one's off topic but it was my first car (pic taken the day I got it, before I stripped off the rear window louvre, mud flaps, and heavy duty towbar). I drove this car everywhere at a million miles per hour and everyone knew me because of it, as most people my age had commodores, falcons etc. I wish I'd never sold this car but it was getting pretty rusty when I sold it. The bloke who brought it off me parted it out and cut the roof off to repair a Monaro with a rusted out sunroof so I guess I'll never have the chance to buy it back. Oh well.

Hey Mitch, thanks for the images. I don't consider your HZ Premier off-topic in this thread. One's first car is as important as any hot rod and custom. It is part of our development as a car person. I owned a lot of Holdens over the years.
Well Monday will be my last day at work. I handed my notice in last week and am sought of retiring I guess. It is a step into the great unknown I think. I haven't ruled out working again, but I think I need to give this a try.
Anyhow here is a few random images to make this post a little more interesting.

Geoff, I took some time off for eighteen months, four years ago. It was great but being in my early fifties, I was afraid to spend a lot at any one time on my projects. I then went back to work full time and managed a hydraulic rebuild shop a little over an hours drive from home. Because of the terrain, I felt safest in my four wheel drive in the winter at least so had to fill up every other day. That became expensive and after trying that for 17 months with long hours, I gave it up. I now ***ist the store manager at a local hydraulic shop 5 miles down the road on Tuesdays through Thursdays and then enjoy working for myself on the four day weekend. This seems to be a good balance for me and you might want to consider something similar if the leap to retirement worries you. Jim

Thanks for that Jim, I hear what your saying. I am 57 1/2 and probably am a bit early to retire.
Yeah I will need to think more about major purchases than I have done in the past.
I don't hate going to work or anything like that, I am just a bit restless I guess. I think it is a need I have to take my life in a different direction. I am an eternal optimist and believe things will just work out. My boss and the company owners don't want me to go and have said I can come back at any time, but I think I need to try this.

Geoff, I think you have made the right decision. I always say things happen for a reason. The road will be winding and it will also be up and down, but the sun will shine most days mate so just enjoy the journey. I hope to ring up tonight .
